We were asked by Fox Angels Foundation to assist with a fox collapsed in a garden in SE15. Although SE15 is a long way outside of our catchment area, Debbie immediately agreed to attend. Seeing that the fox was dragging her back legs and seemed to have laboured breathing, we decided that Debbie should have her assessed at a nearby vet as we were unsure if she would make it to South Essex Wildlife Hospital.
The vet tested the foxes’ reflexes and found that she still had sensation in her lower body, so we then opted to have some strong pain relief administered for the journey to the Hospital. After panting heavily and being quite visibly in pain up until that point, she settled in the carrier to sleep and seemed far more comfortable for the remainder of the trip. She’s now under the expert care of the team at South Essex Wildlife Hospital.
